TERM 4 PLAN:

Manly Life Youth Vision and Values:

Purpose Statement: To reach and equip teenagers to be mature life-long followers of Jesus who make disciples.

Mission Statement: To reach and equip teenagers to be mature life-long followers of Jesus who make disciples through Jesus-focused ministry, ongoing discipleship and a culture of excellence.

We achieve this mission by both reaching and equipping teenagers:

Reach – Creating evangelism opportunities where young people are reached in relevant ways and invited to participate in Manly Life Youth. We also achieve this through ongoing discipleship where young people are taught to make disciples of their peers.

Equip – A Friday Night Youth program where teenagers can feel connected, have an opportunity to meet God, encounter the Holy Spirit, learn from the Bible, and be discipled by committed leaders. Also by providing further one-on-one discipleship or further discipleship programs to suit young people’s needs and faith journey.

Ministry Pillars: These are the key ingredients, the must-have qualities of our ministry to teenagers at Manly Life Youth!

  1. Jesus Focused Ministry

Jesus is at the centre of everything we do in Youth Ministry. We exist for young people to be in a transformational relationship with the Triune God. To follow Jesus, to discover The Father’s love and to encounter and be transformed by the Holy Spirit.

Practically this looks like Bible-based teaching that encourages young people to encounter Jesus and live for Him in their everyday lives. It means expressing Jesus’ love for young people in the community through evangelism. It means providing a space where people experience belonging, connection and can build Godly relationships. It means raising up a generation of young people that are passionate followers of Jesus for life!  Everything we do is focused on Jesus!

2. Excellence

Whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father! Colossians 3:17

As representatives of Jesus we aim to be excellent in all we do using our resources, time, spiritual gifts and God-given talents. This means being diligent, faithful, responsible, wise, acting with integrity and innovation in order that we might fulfill our purpose. This means partnering with parents and promoting healthy families in Christ’s image. We believe God gets the glory when we give our best, we believe our young people deserve the best and we represent Jesus and shine his light when we have a culture of excellence.

3. Discipleship

Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. Matthew 28:19-20

Jesus commands us to make disciples, baptise them and instruct them in Jesus’ way. These disciples are then commanded to repeat the process. This is discipleship that changes the world. Our Youth Ministry is planned intentionally to help grow young people at all stages of faith into every increasing maturity in Jesus Christ. Young people are trained in Jesus’ way to be disciple-makers and evangelists in their own homes, schools and other areas of influence!
